I pulled all kind of shenanigans. The company i worked for used very threatening-sounding language about vax requirements. I started making noise in reply-all fashion to emails that went out to a LOT of people, that this was a violation of HIPAA--not just vax requirements, but requirements that we report our vax status to the company AT ALL. It's all my medical info, and the company has no business making determinations about my employment based on my medical info.
And if the government has any edicts to the contrary, the company ought to be fighting them in court on these grounds, not kicking the can down the road until I'm forced to do it.
Needless to say that didnt go over well. I then threatened legal action and went to that liberty council of lawyers, filed a hipaa complaint and an EEOC complaint. (My thinking was they would fire me over this but it's illegal to retaliate against someone with pending complaints)
Eventually the government lost a court case and the company vax mandate was dropped, but i never even self-reported, let alone took the vax.
They wound up putting out exemption waivers and I got an exemption, and awhile later I got a better job ... but I was expecting to be fired every day for about 6 months. And they also wouldnt have invented/told us about exemptions if I hadnt pushed the envelope so hard
