Thumbing through the The God Culture's YouTube channel was painful. Red flags keep popping up.

• He repeatedly calls people idiots in the YouTube comments. For a "Christian" channel, this tells me all I need to know, but let's keep going.
• He leans heavily on Jubilees, and he puts it forth as inspired scripture. Yet, I don't see efforts to explore and explain the problems that come with putting Jubilees on the same level as Genesis.
• I'll say it again for emphasis. He tells his audience what the canon of scripture should and shouldn't be. Who is he accountable to? Does he claim to pray and find out the correct canon through divine revelation of the Holy Spirit? Does he submit to any authorities or have any accountability as we should in the body of believers?
• When YouTube commenters ask hard questions, he sometimes responds by suggesting that they watch the relevant video series. The channel has hundreds of videos spanning hundreds of hours.
• He repeatedly paints scholars in a bad light by way of stereotyping and generalization.
• There's a lot of nuance that is omitted in favor of black and white (false equivalence/dichotomy).
• He claims that the fish took Jonah from the Mediterranean all the way around the continent of Africa in order to deposit him somewhere on land that is closer to Nineveh in order to satisfy his criteria of a three days' journey (Jonah 3:3). Yet the consensus of modern translations and commentators lean toward the "three day's journey" referring to Jonah's time to deliver the message to all of Nineveh. There's a lot of speculation and eisegesis that are unnecessary. Unfortunately, the speculation isn't clarified to the viewer. The three days' journey to the city is put forth as his correct interpretation, then he says the fish circled Africa to accomplish the task. The truth that he is presenting is an interpretation stranger than fiction.

We have the archaeology of ancient Nineveh which was surrounded by walls. It was less than a day's journey to walk it not 3. The notion has always been ludicrous.

From what I've seen, there is too much short circuiting going on where scholarship isn't reviewed and addressed in all of its details. If he has, as he claims, an open and shut case for Ophir being in the Philippines, he should publish his findings to correct the scholars that he believes are wrong. What I see is a cult-like environment where the leader cannot be questioned, and the target audience is Filipinos. There are a lot of people in the comment buying in and almost nobody is asking hard questions.
