I think they are cooking those numbers. How many people actually bought $3000 HDTVs back in 2000? I imagine most TVs sold back then were CRTs in the $500-200 range, same as today.
Same with wireless service. I think cell phone bills have gone up on average. Nobody in 2000 had mobile data plans.
It's called the transfer of wealth; this is how they do it to keep us enslaved and keep them wealthy.
And as long as we're distracted with cellphones, tvs, video games, and toys were not supposed to notice the other stuff.
everything people need to lead a decent life has gone up - everything that keeps people distracted or can influence their minds have gone down.
