Probably safe to assume We’ve had this tech for years. And since the plebs are mostly ignoring the Aliens thing aside from memes. They need something to throw into the news cycle to buy time.

Also. I can imagine every researcher, physicist, and Engineer who wasn’t in the know on this. Is beyond ecstatic. As it’s been a popular idea for years. That the discovery of Room Temp Super Conductors would be the key to explosive technological and scientific growth.
