You are right about watered-down Christianity. God is love, but Love is not God-- we dont worship the concept of love. God hates, the Bible is very specific about what God hates. Christians are called to hate the same things he does, altho Jesus says we are not to hate our brother. This is often stretched to say everyone could be our brother, so Christians cant hate anyone, but i find that either misguided or I'm just a bad Christian (one of the two). Either way, hatred of concepts and principles is still permissible, and I'd say advisable, to the modern Christian. The fact that quoting the Bible's stance on faggotry = hate speech is all i need to know about this entire debacle.
Censoring hate speech is an end-around freedom of religion and freedom of speech, because Christians are no longer allowed to say what God hates, and what we should hate by extension.

It is the creation of a thought crime.
