#ThePersistence @ScottPresler What I’m about to say to you is meant with love & respect:
I understand how upset voters are w/ the Republican Party leadership. I’ve been reaching out to Chairwoman McDaniel for 110 days w/o a response.
With that being said, I’m here for one reason — to make Joe Biden a one-term president.
Despite the fact that the GOP won’t listen to the grassroots, I’m cognizant that many states have closed primaries. This means that you can’t vote for Trump or DeSantis until you’re registered as a Republican.
If you change your voter registration status to independent, you are actually hurting Trump & DeSantis, as you won’t be able to vote in
AZ, CA, CT, DE, FL, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, NE, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OR, & PA.
Stay registered as a Republican, so you can vote for your favorite candidate.
You can vote here in NC in the primary as an independent where I live now. You just tell them what party ballot you want
But cannot vote in the primaries in NY state where I used to live unless you are registered in that party. Those not affiliated with any party cannot vote in the NYS primary.
I'm registered as "unaffiliated" aka independent (protest) in NC. I had no problem voting GOP in 2022. I'm assuming I'll have no issues in 2024. Wondering if I should switch back to GOP?
Very easy to switch your party in NC. Just call your county board of elections and ask what you need to do just to be sure. I’ve been a registered Republican since I moved here 8 years ago.
If you vote early and you’re an independent I believe you can do it then. However, if you are registered as a Dem and wish to vote Republican you have to fill out an absentee ballot. I know of it happening here at early voting when I was working the polls to a guy who wanted to change parties but forgot to do it earlier.
Good to know. I think we will re-reg as GOP to ensure there are no snags.
