As a native Californian and former Californian, I can say that California was the prototype for what they want to implement across the country. I saw that beautiful state go to hell in real time.
I can't imagine. I live in Illinois and loved it despite the crappy weather and flat landscape. Because it is where my people are and don't hate me, but I think the Chicago personality is unique and very funny.
So here's my thing especially about California. We need to take our places back. They don't get to take all the prettiest places in the US and screw them up sending all of the sane people scurrying into the desert (Admittedly I am an ocean person so IMO sorry AZ and NV but you're no CA). They are crooks and miscreants and they have to give back the diamonds.
I stayed in California for most of my 60 years and fought the fight... but the high cost of living despite making a 6 figure income, the crowds, the taxes, the filth, the utter bullshit and corruption.... the war was lost there. My son went to university in SF starting in 2015 and I enjoyed visiting him and the city... SF used to be such a great city to visit. But by 2018, it was definitely enemy territory. Now look at it. It's like a 1940s insane asylum movie.
I've been travelling since 2018 and have been trying to figure out which state I want to settle in. Nothing quite beats the natural beauty and variety of communities and climates of California, so its hard to find a replacement.
CA is unique that's for sure. We used to go often but haven't been in awhile. San Fran was my Mom's favorite city. She'd cry if she saw it today. I had a colleague tell me he and his wife were there for their 30th anniversary, because it's where they vacationed on their honeymoon. He said he'll never go back.
I hear this a lot about Californians bringing their politics to other states. It could easily be said that all the dreamy eyed people who came to California since the 60s to become movie stars and whatnot from other states is what influenced California to become what it has become. I saw people move in from other states and trash the lifestyle we had there for so many years. So enough of the bitching about that. Plenty of blame to go around.
I moved from western New York to Colorado 30+ years ago and embraced the Colorado lifestyle. From leave no trace, be quiet in the back country, to living within the semi arid climate (no lush green lawn, no wasting water, etc). I drive reapectfully, obey traffic laws (vs Californians significant behavioral issues where they have 10 lane highways and still create gridlock because of their choices). It’s easy to know if a driver is from California. They drive in the left lane regardless of their speed, text, no signals, etc. no wonder their roads are a shitshow.
As has been said so many times people move from their shitholes which they propagated with their shitty decisions and crap lifestyles to a new place, bring their behaviors and make choices that trashed their old place, and expect things to be different.
I’m entitled to bitch. It’s not because of me that Colorado is sliding down the shit hole scale towards communism.
Absolutely. Our sons now live in California. When we visited them about 5 years ago, there were quite a few homeless. It is by far worse now. I blame failure of enforcing laws. Give an inch, and soon it is miles.
Sounds like Cali is in deep-voter fraud and biolabs located in California.

Calirado is more shithole every single day due to California influence. The gay poleass governor is pushing it harder and harder every minute.
Colorado was a poster child for all mail in ballots and the corruption and cheating has been blatant from the beginning.
