I have several tubes of the paste on hand, and I took it for a while. I switched to the cattle / swine injectable. It is easy to take, and your dogs can take almost the same dose as humans for heartworm.

I take it about twice a month, and treat the dogs once a month most months, but add a treatment for them in the summer if we get enough rain to cause a heavy mosquito season.

The does for humans is 1CC per every 110 pounds body weight. The does for dogs is .1CC for every 10 pounds body weight. Ivermectin is the drug in all the heartworm chews for dogs, but is much cheaper to buy in the injectable form.

It is bitter tasting so I take mine in a shot of juice, and the dogs get theirs over canned dog food. Do Not Give Ivermectin to Collies. It will kill some of the Collie breeds.
