As a person recognized as having “Indian status,” this was always the case. Having a bunch of libtards decide a name was racist was no different than deciding an iconic statue was racist. Without foresight, lacking substance. None of these decision makers ever stepped foot in a reserve. I have. I can tell you first hand that all the kids living there cherished these teams. You walk around and they are sports fans just like anyone else and the kids all have hats on. Guess which ones? Chicago Blackhawks, Washington redskins, Cleveland Indians, KC chiefs…… etc. The point is that they were super proud to have that bit of historical representation. It was a factor that made them a fan of the teams, not a victim of racism.

Never before heard a first hand account of it. Thanks. Hopefully they change it back to Redskins.
