This was around the time of Vatican blackouts and the Italian government like 2 or 3 in a row stepped down. I think this was a police action against the pope/cardinals/vatican bank that was kept quiet.

The amount of gold they're talking about would take tons of semi's fully loaded to several runs to haul.
