I assume Nixon was doing something very right if they took him out the way they did. Those tapes are evidence against Nixon. I am looking for the real story of what good things he was doing.
Or you can listen to the audio tape, and read the transcript and see him being guilty in the cover up and obstructing justice. They are discussing a check that was sent to Nixon's re-election campaign that was then given to a Watergate burglar. Nixon and his chief of staff are then trying to figure out how to cover that up.
Nixon was a talented politician and did some good things such as the opening to China, but he was also self-destructive and did some really bad things like Cambodia
It was a good thing for capital and the proliferation thereof, but a bad thing for American workers
YeshuaSupreme, please use a little common sense. Dude recorded himself ordering crimes. As the saying about Watergate goes "These aren't bright people, and things just kinda got out of hand". Nixon was intelligent and had some degree of cunning, but he wasn't wise.
If your reaction to finding out you've been lied to is to blanket assume everything you've been told is a lie, and you always take the opposite of the "mainstream" view of things... Then you are still being just as controlled as you were before. Multiplying everything by -1 just flips the variables while keeping the equation's structure intact - it doesn't actually get you any closer to X.
This was in the context of a Cold War and it was about getting China in the US on good relations which meant China then was splitting off from the Soviet Union, thus weakening the threat of the Soviet Union.
This was not about the later efforts to change China, economically, etc
