San Francisco was a wonderful city and it still can be beautiful. If anything burns there, it should be white sage to exorcise the evil spirits.
I wouldn't walk those streets even though I enjoy walking. Too damn dangerous. I'd take a tour bus though. Of course, I would never find myself in San Francisco anyways.
Silicon valley tried to turn San Francisco into a villa for the rich only by causing real estate prices to sky rocket. I lived there in the 80s and paid 600 for nice apartment on van ness near city hall. After dot com happened and many new Yorkers relocated the price went up to 3000 a month. I left long ago. Now look at it.
