Defund the police and give the money to the sheriffs office. We only need one law enforcing authority and it needs to be the one that is voted on by the people. Police only exist as the cities personal goon squad.

Fun fact: police departments are corporate and work for the municipal corporation (DC at the top). Technically they are impersonating officials and their actions are all under "color of law".

Sheriffs are the real lawful authority.
