Willing to at least try to reduce the amount of fluoride ingested in my local area, as well as setting up more counter-measures in case there are disruptions in water treatment and supply. What are your opinion on those clay and soapstone filters, and the ones that aim to kill germs with UV-light exposure ?

Filtration systems can efficiently remove most microbes, and some toxins, but not all. The only 100% way to get pure water, is distillation. Nothing comes out but pure H2O. Some try to claim that distilled water removes minerals and other nutrients from the body, but if you think about it, the moment it hits your stomach, it's not distilled water anymore. And anything it does absorb, has to make it all the way through your digestive system.
