Governor Hochul recently passed a substantial increase on the film tax credit, including tax credits for above the line costs. Productions that move to NY will receive an additional 5% tax incentive. Will this hurricane cause catastrophic damage to Hollywood’s production studios? Will that force productions resuming post strike to come to NY? Pretty convenient timing with WGA and AMPTP getting back to negotiations.
