Make sure you get to collect rainwater and have at least two weeks worth of non perishables and a bug-out site. I'm far from there, but I believe you guys would be way less at risk in the mountains or close to Baja and the Mojave than in any big Cali city.

Um. Anyone living on them hills may be sliding down. Landslides are more of a problem in CA after lots of rain.
So even the hills are alive!
