I appreciate the effort, I still think the comments area is best suited for comments while linking to content instead of including it allows for easier conversations.
Sorry to hear you found it painstakingly. Perhaps it's your technique? I manually select the main content of a wiki article instead of "Select all". Then a bit of formatting and done! Not that bad at all.
It seems like a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.
