... A teacher in Georgia has lost her job after reading a book on gender ideology to her 5th grade class, violating a state law prohibiting the use of educational materials to promote controversial viewpoints. ...

... “I am disappointed in the district’s decision to terminate me for reading an inclusive and affirming book—one that is representative of diverse student identities,” Rinderle said, according to a SPLC press release. “The district is sending a harmful message that not all students are worthy of affirmation in being their unapologetic and authentic selves…Censorship perpetuates harm and students deserve better.” ...

They've been framing the authoritarian alphabet movement as a "human rights" issue for a couple of decades now.

And it's been working.

We've been arguing that the alphabet movement is promoting one specific gender ideology, arguing in favour of parental rights and religious freedom. It's been only partially successful.

The Georgia law used in this case seems to be broadly against teaching "divisive concept" in school and seems to be aimed at CRT but could certainly be applied to alternative "gender theories" as well.

Decoupling (see what I did there?) the sex act from reproduction has allowed the entry point for all this nonsense.

Get back to the basic biology of reproduction: Why do animals not divide like amoebas? What is the point of having male and female animals in the first place? Why do flowers have stamens and pistils?

The biological purpose of the sex act is reproduction of the species.

That's it.

That's why the categories of "male" and "female" exist in the first place.

It's neither arbitrary nor harmful to note that the sexes exist as separate categories.
