Owner of viral red house thinks this is why it survived Maui wildfires that turned everything else to ash
The owner of a red-roofed house in Maui that went viral for remaining untouched by the historic wildfires has explained the details that she thinks helped it survive the storm.
That would be an expensive roof. I put a metal roof on my house because I researched roofs extensively--I wanted one that would outlast me. Yet it is hard to get them around here, they don't seem to be harder for the roofers but the roofing companies don't offer them because no one wants to pay.
The car survived, too.
