He hoped the English Lords and Ladies who had lost so much power would stand by him. Some did but Churchill would have none of it as well as the Army, Navy and common man in the street.

All true, BUT he was the First Democrat President. Oh, and he initiated to trail of tears even after the supreme court called him out on it and said it was illegal. But then nothing is ever cut and dried bad or good.

This could be taken as a morality lesson in the evils of the government. She never says that she likes that power. its not an indictment on her. could be should be but its not that clear.
