Quite the achiever.
In high school he was class valedictorian, a nationally ranked junior tennis player, and an accomplished pianist.
He then went on to Harvard and graduated summa cum laude in 2007. While at Harvard, a precis of his senior thesis, on the ethical questions raised by creating human-animal chimeras, was published in the Boston Globe and The New York Times. After Harvard college, Vivek worked for three years in life sciences investing in New York.
He was then awarded a fellowship to support work towards a JD in Law at Yale University from the Paul & Daisy Soros Foundations For New Americans. He graduated from Yale in 2013.
Two Paul & Daisy Soros Fellows are behind the largest biotech IPO in history—Vivek Ramaswamy (2011 Fellow), the founder and CEO of Roivant Sciences, and Pavan Cheruvu (2004 Fellow), the chief of staff at Roivant Sciences.

Ramaswamy is the founder of the following companies:
-
Roivant Sciences - a pharmaceutical company where he made hundreds of millions of dollars. That a chunk of this wealth derived from a failed effort to bring an Alzheimer’s drug to market is something he doesn’t dwell on in speeches.
-
Sio Gene Therapies - on April 5, 2023, the stockholders of Sio Gene Therapies, Inc. voted to liquidate and dissolve the company.
"A lot of money was “disappearing” in the reserve for potential or unanticipated claims and contingencies. When a company is liquidating it is mandatory to keep a reserve for a certain number of years (3 in most cases) in case unexpected claims show up. This is of course certainly possible. It could be as simple as the company missing some invoices in their administration or it could be worse with a full-blown lawsuit about Some Bad Thing in the past. But this is of course not expected to happen, and I think that shareholders should expect to get the majority of this reserve at the end of the liquidation process." -
Memoir, Inc. - a Medicare advisor business
-
Strive Asset Management, LLC - provides comparable investment options to existing large asset managers
-
Campus Venture Network, Inc. - founded at Harvard; provides software and networking resources to university entrepreneurs
