My ex MIL,deceased now for 25+ years, was full Ukrainian. Cossack family. Bred horses. Orthodox Catholic. Long, long, story of which I only know pieces, but something I never fully understood until recently was her disdain for a certain group. I feel strongly she would have seen right through the current state of affairs in Ukraine.
