Here's an interesting X comment on the thread over there:
08/08 was to be the 1st day back for public 7th & 9th grades & elementary. However, school was canceled that morning due to power outage. Even IF they did go to school that day, it would've ended around 2:15. The fires 12000was after 3:00. They would've been home anyway.
This is the crux of the new lawsuit Maui county brought against Hawaiian electric this week. Hawaiian electric is saying that they shut off the power prior to the second fire and the county is saying if Hawaiian electric knows about a second ignition source then now is the time to prove it. Otherwise the narrative is the downed power lines started both the morning fire and the afternoon fire in Lahaina.

Power was on. Hence the fires. Remember? Power left on water shut off. School was closed due to high winds. They were home and parents at work.
No, fren. Electric by several reports was shut off between 2 and 6 hours before the fire.
