But let's do the exercise.
Why use a 737? FedEx has a cargo plane that carries 112 tons. Why not go big, if you already need to hundreds of flights.
OK, you have all this gold. At the Vatican. Which doesn't have an airport.
How do you transport 650 planeloads of gold from the Vatican to the nearest airport? You need a lot of trucks.
The US has an airbase in in Italy, but it's not close. The Rome airport is a half hour away.
And You need trucks for the gold and also heavily armed security teams to protect the gold.
3 million people live in Rome. The Vatican is one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world. 4 million visitors a year. Nobody noticed?
How long does it take to load up 29,900,000 lbs of gold into trucks? My calculation would 4x time more or 120 million pounds How many trucks? How many people would be involved.
You would need literally an army. How long would this operation take? How do you get your army of people into the VATICAN unnoticed? This story first came out in 2020 btw.
How do you move 3 times the amount of gold in Fort Knox out of the Tiny Vatican in the middle of major city with nobody noticing. With an Italian press that LOVES to writes about the Vatican.
