I have long suspected it will take mass violence, something like a civil war, to right the ship of state and get the drooling knuckle draggers within the population to grasp that top-down central command of every aspect of life by an authoritarian dictatorship isn't as good as political liberty coupled with economic opportunity and individual responsibility.
