One problem I have with this is how come the car frames didnt melt? That's a "fireproof safe" and it cut through it like butter, yet the burnt out cars in Maui all had their steel frames in tact (afaik)

Umm, it didn’t cut through the safe like butter. They are taking out paper after the burn.

I suppose it depends on how much thermite one uses. The chemicals can be tweaked.
