Not sure we would be aware if we had them or not. According to this article, we have known they were in development for seven years by Russia and China. I would guess we are not that far behind, if at all.
That's not true. I was in the Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman from '95-04. From '95 to '00 I was in the Fleet. From '00-04 I was EOD. We were developing and testing hypersonic cruise missiles as early as '96. We were trained on their systems and how to load them before they even made their first test flights, sometime around '97/98.
There's one thing everyone here needs to remember when it comes to military weaponry. ESPECIALLY since the Clinton bathroom server incident.
The US Military Industrial Complex has been advancing military weapons grade technologies FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD since WWII. The CCP AND Russia has hypersonic cruise missiles because WE R&D'd them first. They have those weapons because we had them first. The CCP was decades behind our capabilities UNTIL [HRC] became SoS. That was one of the purposes behind her becoming SoS and the main reason why she went after Trump with her Russian collision narrative. She couldn't afford thlo have the world find out the truth. That she gave BOTH Russia AND the CCP access to our most sensitive weapons technologies.
I KNOW for a fact we have these weapons because I've seen them with my own eyes. We were trained on them before anyone else in the world even knew we had them.
DO NOT Believe the hype in this article. It's all bullshit.
Supporting what Suckafree said elsewhere in the topic, I read somewhere that we in fact, do have them. I think the key thing is that focus has been placed elsewhere.
Development of the Rapid Dragon system is a game changer. Every cargo transport in the US arsenal is now capable of firing dozens of long range and low observable cruise missiles at a time.
Additionally, kits have been developed that can be applied to traditional dumb-bombs that makes them guided, to the point that they can even hit moving ships at sea. They may have hypersonics, but our military went with the route of "Shit, we'll just blow them all up at once."
Also, laser defense systems capable of taking out hypersonics are also hitting the field now.

...valid observation...

...all things being equal, why do you believe this information is being published now?
i bet we have had them a long time
