I already don't eat beef for every meal, and wouldn't if I could afford to. but this crazy stuff is like the Platoon commander in Viet Nam - we have to destroy your village to save it. Covering the earth in mirrors is not environmentally sound.

Yup, here in Norway we rarely eat beef every day. The weeks dinners usually consist of a mix of fish (a LOT of fish), and a day or two of other meats, like mutton and lamb, chicken, and beef.
