Ocean Grove is a small beach town in NJ. Read this story carefully to the end. All the usual insinuations, innuendos and painting people who don't want to fit into a community that existed far before they arrived, as freedom fighters. You even get the obligatory Trump mention.

Notice how different "Gentrification" is written about by the club...
Notice how they slip this in there too.
As a result, it is probably one of the rare examples of an American community where you can find, flying on homes on the very same block, both Christian flags – increasingly regarded in the United States as a symbol of far-right nationalism – and rainbow flags
Ocean grove has a ton of history. It’s ironic they mention the LGBQ and Jewish aspect. In the 60’s or 70’s, they closed the mental institution and ocean grove (bc of the church) is where most of them landed. Asbury Park went bankrupt and the Victorian houses became section 8 housing. Asbury became dangerous but there was a coexistence with the gay community that went there to go to a club called paradise. That’s when they took notice of ocean grove, you could simply walk across the bridge. The gay community revitalized the town, crime was literally locked out, as there is a gate that surrounds three sides and the ocean. Then the gay community began buying in Asbury. That’s when the gentrification really started again. One thing not mentioned in the article is that in the other side of Asbury is Deal NJ. It is 99% Jewish, most being NY 30 million dollar summer homes. All private beaches and beach clubs. They also don’t mention tent city, which is handed down by generations for working class and goes up from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
The slow revitalization of Asbury happened once the gays moved in, now you can’t get on the beach and NY Jewish investors have bought up the boardwalk including building a HUGE private residence/ hotel across the street. This article seems more along the lines of them wanting to get ownership of Ocean Grove and using social pressure to try to change the way it’s been done for hundreds of years.
Nice post.
Yeah, it's quite obvious what they're up to. Rules for thee... and so on.
I always laugh when people move somewhere and complain it isn't 100% what they want. It's a community you moved into, but they should all do what you desire?
It’s insane! Saw it bad in New Orleans! They love the culture and history but then try to change the history and culture that enticed them to move!
Completely self absorbed mental patients.
We have always said we would move to New Orleans when we retire. Because we love the city, not because we want to make it more like ourselves!
Unfortunately, the city is being destroyed. There’s a great exodus happening right now.
