The bill referred to in the Article titled the PRIME act was initially introduced by Mr Massie of KY in the 117 Congress 2017 and had bipartisan support. He reintroduced the Act in the 118 Congress on 25 Apr 2023 and again has bipartisan co-sponsorship.
If enacted, it will allow family farms with limited distribution to bypass the costly USDA inspections.
Many here will recall the stories of Amish farmers being raided and shut down for selling subscription based farm processed meats and dairy. This will be a significant step to mitigate those over-reach abuses and put a dent in the Big Ag choke hold on our food.
