It’s an illusion perpetuated by passive compliance. Simply say no thank you, actually today I said “l’m good, don’t need that, you can turn the camera off”….Well, son-of-a-bitch, he looked at my ID and waived me through.

As I mentioned - tired and at wit's end - and , it was a while ago. The machines scanned retina's. ( hazy recollection ) It has bothered me ever since. Another one was when i was riding my "Street Licensed" ( and insured ) dirt bike down a rural road. A cop passed me going the other way. He flipped a bitch and pulled me over. His Claim was that SOMEONE called in about dirt bikers ripping up the open hills. I was in street clothes / sneakers - and told him he had the wrong guy. Cop demanded my papers ( ID / Drivers Lic ) I repeatedly told him that i have broken no laws. We went round and round for over an hour , before I finally gave up just to move on , and get home. I fucken hate people who work for the Government - more than I hate the Government.
Yeah man, some have a real enforcer authority complex, they will even break the law and violate your rights. Gotta keep your head.
