Anybody else think "Death trap" when they first saw a "Smart car"?
I refuse to own any car with electronic power brakes and/or electronic throttle control. If I ever run out of clean 90s vehicles to buy I'll use a standalone ECU and manual brakes and throttle control.
Also... every KIA says "Killed In Action" in my mind. Can't kick it out of there...I cannot for the life of me understand how they've been able to succeed in the USA with a moniker that all military descendants should be seeing the same way i do
Same. First thing I thought when they came out. Second thing I thought was getting us "used" to seeing KIA. I hate them all.
I have been pointing out to people that all the new housing designs being built look like Soviet Era buildings. They look, blink and then agree. Food for thought...
It's all contradictory. At the lower level, all these smart devices are what used to be dumb terminal devices, all while they have enough storage and performance to not need, "the cloud," in the first place.
I think it is more, as far as the term, "smart," goes, about replacing your need to make decisions. The concentration camp aspect just flows out from.that.
It also stands for 'satellite monitoring and remote tracking'. Or at least that's that acronym for the systems they use for people under house arrest.
