I just got a text message talking about various states removing Trump from the ballots.

If this happens. Him taking the speaker might make sense.

SCOTUS decided yesterday that they won't take any candidate/ballot cases.

On the remote chance that voting officials decide to "accidentally" leave Trump off the ballots (and refuse/be unable to correct it in time), the speakership route could still potentially make sense.

I'm sure we haven't seen the full extent of what they're willing to do to botch an election process.
