It did come from a white girls name. Amber Hangerman, her mother pushed for this alert system due to her daughters kidnapping and murder.
Many laws and things of this nature are named after a victim after family members push for reform.
I guess what you said is how they feel. Too white. Kinda diminshes the work of Amber's mother to bring more action for all missing kids.
