Is it well known for treating colds and flu in the horse community?
No, horses don't get colds or flu as we know it. It's used to treat internal and sometimes external parasites. There is a type of equine flu that is highly contagious, but quite rare and is treated with antibiotics.
Oh, I meant, have horse owners been taking Ivermectin themselves to treat colds? A knowledge that us non-horse people learned after Covid hit? Or ya'll were only giving it to livestock?
30 odd years ago an old horseman friend told me of the benefits of Ivermectin regarding human intestinal parasites and said it's a good idea to dose with it every couple of months. Until chyna virus suddenly appeared I didn't realize either that it was beneficial in fighting colds, cancer, etc. Now I dose with that and fenbendazole monthly.
Wow, great story. Your friend was very wise.
