Poland has been overrun and taken over by foreigners so many times that they aren't playing around anymore. They do whatever is necessary to maintain peace and order in their country.

I've been to many different countries in my travels, and Poland has always felt the safest, even of all the EU countries. Never had to worry about attacks, shootings, bombings, kidnappings, pick-pocketing, etc. But I've seen pick-pocketing happen to people I was traveling with in Italy and Israel, Muslims selling cheap souvenirs in France, Italy, Israel, and Jordan, constantly bothering you to buy something, and streets being unsafe at night in France, Italy, Israel, and Jordan. Not once did I ever feel unsafe in Poland, no matter the city or time of day.
