By Torah he is referring to what we call the Old Testament, correct? Does anyone have any idea what verse he is talking about that says idol worshipers should be put to death?

Not the whole Old Testament. The Torah is the compilation of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, namely the books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.
