I like this comment on Sundance's article, it's a good reminder no one is perfect.
"Have to admit I’m getting pretty tired of the negativity (from our side) towards Jordan. As a wise man once said “the enemy of good, is perfect”.
Jordan is by far the most MAGA and biggest Trump supporter we could possibly get as speaker. Why do you think so many uniparty/RINOs have been so strongly against him and had to be dragged kicking and screaming to support him?
To the anti-Jordan people (on the MAGA side), who exactly do you prefer? Trump’s not happening. Gaetz isn’t happening..
I know there’s more to the story than voting record, but it’s pretty indicative of where one stands and no GOP speaker in decades (maybe my life, not sure about Newt) has a voting record close to Jordan’s. I think his liberty score is 94%, compared to 54% for McCarthy and roughly same for Scalise.
As far as the “all talk… Trey Gowdy… ” stuff, I don’t know what anyone expects from one congressman. As speaker, I think we’ll see more. We couldn’t expect more from probably anyone else that has a realistic chance of becoming speaker.
MAGA people should get behind Jordan, imo and stop wishing for the perfect speaker that doesn’t exist."
