it is publicly aired who they vote for. not a yea or a nay vote, but instead they announce who they want for SOTH. 20 house members voted for people other than Jim Jordan (200 votes) or Hakeem Jeffries (212 votes). 3 house seats I believe are vacant so 217 required to vote in a SOTH which is more than half of the available 432 voting house members
