Doesn't matter what county almost every politician is corrupt/corrupted. Matt is spot on here and once they are elected no matter the pre-election promises they will do what suits them.

The Swiss solution is to hold referendums on every major subject but politicians dont like this.

The 'cradle of democracy' Greece, someone was elected from each community, went to the parliament for a brief period to represent and then returned home and another elected.

The worlds systems of politicians being there decades is a recipe for corruption. The only danger then nis that we get a bunch of civil servants who wield power!
