They pulled the same move with that batman movie shooting. Had a vote on guns prescheduled the same week of the event...if i remeber correctly.
Edit: The shooting took place on July 20 2012. I found what i was referring to but it is much bigger than i remembered. It was during the UN conference for gun control. They were drafting a treaty for countries to sign.
