We've decided against them for our most recent child and when scheduling an appointment the nurse told us that if we don't vaccinate then they won't see us.
Is this a widespread issue? Is there a website or resource for finding pediatricians that will see unvaccinated children?
I'm sure its more common than it should be, but lots of doctors should be willing. You might need to find a smaller office, especially one who has joined the growing trend of cash only doctors who do not take insurance.
The main issue is doctors who rely on reimbursements, etc being told that unless they enforce stuff they won't get paid.
It is much easier to find a General that leans more alternative than a Pediatrician. Most of them march in lockstep to whatever recommendations the American Academy of Pediatrics lays down - which is bought and paid for by Pharma. Hell, my parents didn't take us to a Pediatrician - we saw the same family doc that my parents did. Why does anyone think that they must see a specialist for their kids? There is the first mistake. For most issues, a General Practice provider works just fine. That would be my recommendation.
