Seeking advice - Nurse gave infant adult vaccine.
🧐 Research Wanted 🤔
My wife took our child in for a 1 month appointment. They asked my wife if she wanted to give the child the RSV antinbody shot and she agreed. Later that day the doctor called and said the nurse mistakenly gave a full dose of the adult RSV vaccine. I don't what to do. Im tracking down what brand they gave and what lot number, ill update asap.
I’m just reading this and the comments…. How is the baby, any updates? There’s a comment related to breast milk and vitamin C. Have mama take a strong dose and feed. I would also have her call her hunk and see if she was given the shot during pregnancy. Monitor, monitor, monitor. If a sneeze sounds off, go to the hospital. Id maybe contact childrens health defense directly?
Made it through the night. Any immediate effects seem to not be an issue thank God.
Now just have to monitor for any potential long term effects.
Most people here were awesome, I thank everyone.
Fortunately, mothers milk can help combat a lot of things in newborns. So happy everything’s alright. My kids all have their shots but if I knew then what I know now, I would’ve paid more attention. Take some of the comments with a grain of salt. There is a wealth of knowledge on this board though. Make sure you have everything documented and keep watching that baby! Prayers!
