Not saying it is correct however Iowa has two large universities that I know of and have spent time at. Iowa received large numbers of refugees from Illinois/Chicago who continue to vote D. Thus the large cities such as Davenport, Des Moines, Iowa city, Ames, Cedar Rapids and others tend to have the same effect on Iowa as Chicago does on Illinois. A negative one.
