Total at 92, HDL was 46 (the good stuff), LDL 26 (bad stuff). Total of all non HDL cholesterol was also 46. My dad died of Alzheimers at 94 (was on statins for 30 years). My mom died 89 with dementia, no statins. To be honest I am concerned my total cholesterol is too low, but I seem to be doing ok. Keep doing the cardio. Ask about Repatha, it is not a statin but can be synergistic with them.
My Mom died at 74 from Alzheimer's. Your parents made it a lot of years. I don't think any of my grandparents passed 85. My Dad is doing well nearing 80. I am 48, was on statins since my 30s. Will see what my cholesterol test says in the next couple of days.
