Anyone give IVM to their pups? And if so have suggestions on dosage? They are my family and I want to make sure I cleanse them too :)
Also, was just in Mexico. It was $5usd for 4 6mg tablets. I stocked up a bit
Panacur is the dog dewormer that people take to cure cancer active ingredient started with Fenben... just a notable closely related to topic.
They have fenben horse paste and one for cattle that looks like it goes into a caulking gun…. It’s huge, so I bought for a friend with cancer.
Thanks, I have given them Panacur several times over the past couple years.
I’d consult a vet. I think there may be some canine products that contain IVM.
I thought the heart de-wormer was mostly IVM.
I give the pup a few squirts (ML) of pour-on IVM from ValleyVet each week. She hates it so we have to hold her.
I give the injectable to my dogs for heartworm. The injectable dose is 1/10th CC per every 10 pounds body weight.
DO NOT give ivermectin to collie breeds. Shelties in particular are vulnerable to poisoning from ivermectin. It causes seizures and death in some dogs of the collie breeds. Something about their genetic makeup interferes with the metabolism of the drug.
