What Americans here won't understand is you can have a tyrannical government AND a nationalistic government.

They may be oppressed but have the concept of the greater good to at least know that THEIR tyranny is for THEIR country.

We arguably have it worse.. We have a tyranny in almost all the same ways, but one that HATES our country.

I far more understand people browbeaten by the CCP than Americans with freedoms opting to piss them away for open tyranny.. they CHOOSE tyranny that hates their country.
