I would like to learn more and hope there are people out there who are theologians to perhaps explain:
Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you; And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-3
This verse is from the beginning of God choosing the Jewish people and Abram/Abraham leading them. God had to bless them in order for them to grow and become established. However, read further on and throughout history, Israel keeps disobeying God and God keeps punishing them for their disobedience. Israel gets called out a lot in the Bible for disobeying God and doing bad things. It does NOT keep saying that those who bless Israel will be blessed. It does keep saying that if they follow what God says they will be blessed. Even in the New Testament, Israel disobeys God and even kills the prophets and savior sent. Jesus even calls them out on this. They are called a 'hardneck people' in the Bible. Yes, God chose them, but not all are good and not all follow what God says or believe in Jesus. Just like not all who say they are Christian, follow what God says or really believes in Jesus. Believe in God and Jesus and you will be blessed. Do not put any man before God, because no man or race is greater than God and Jesus is the only savior.
Simply put;
Jesus fulfilled the old covenant with the Jews and
replaces it with the new covenant.
Salvation to those who believe in, and follow Him.
