I don't think God promised us good lives though. If anything God confirmed that life will be full of burdens and hardships, but to lay those hardships and burdens on Him and to seek after Him and to stay focused on Him

The only thing stopping poeople from a good life supplied by God is believing it.
People do more to talk themselves out of God's promises than they do to believe them.
Believing comes by hearing the Word of God. Study and you will think differently.
