Great point. The bad guys are always so convincing while the good guys are so flat.
I noticed since the late nineties there were more and more movies showing the bad guys in a more favorable light or portraying them as “misunderstood”. Same time it coincided with less use of color in big corporate shops and restaurants. They started using darker colors, think the new mc Donald’s. It’s as if darkness washed over the US for the past 20 years.
Just look at their bad guy roles-it comes too naturally to be just acting...
